That felt very much like a Muppet show number. Those should have been penguins in tuxes.

You mean Avery Jessop?
I think of it as an evangelical thing. My family stockpiled rations like there was no tomorrow leading up to Y2K, and my uncle and brother in law started building generators they would sell at survivalist conventions. I went to one. So much camo and night vision goggles. Very amusing though.
“All the young duuuuuuuuuudes...”
Was actually about to post this. :)
I think it was more to put me in my place when I was small. Like calling me a pipsqueak. Another weird term.
‘Tis precisely how it’s used.
Now that I’m thinking of it, pretty sure my grandmother used to call me a titmouse when I was being a brat.
And I associate it with glorious dirty talk in the boudoir. To each her own.
Every time I hear someone call a man a pussy I say “I’m sorry, but I’m pretty sure you meant to say weenie.” And then that usually leads to me quoting Betty White.
Interesting. I don’t think I’ve ever seen “tit” as a pejorative. If I’ve ever used it to describe someone, it’s more along the line of “She’s the tits!”
They don’t call it pussy for nothin’.
Really good point, actually.
I think I love you.
Regarding “flattering” fit, I agree. I was focusing on them not shying away from colors and patterns on Sookie. I actually thought she had some really great coats. And even her chef jackets were colorful. I will forever adore that character.
She WAS the editor of the Yale Daily News. She was dressing for the job she wanted? (Totally agree the outfits weren’t age appropriate, but I kinda loved all the tweediness.)
Rory was supposed to dress like a nerd in high school. Lorelei was supposed to dress younger than her years/job. Skinny scarves were in at the time, as were the printed tees. And whatever, those girls rocked whatever they wore.
100% stealing this turn of phrase.
For some inexplicable reason I read that as “Costanza-level prophetic shit” and I was trying to remember what Seinfeld episode you could have been referencing.
