this is so so so true. i express my opinion or reaction to what people do - but i have no idea what they intended or what they have in their heads. i see so many posts declaring some intimate knowledge of the offenders intentions and beliefs - and thats insane.

i think its bc they are turned down and make them a bit tougher looking - i think the originals had neutral or smiling natural expressions which made them look both younger and less threatening.

i never had an opinion on it until i read the book and his own encounters with the judicial system. he has me convinced too.

i read an amazing book "the monster of venice" which gave interesting insight into the italian justice system - its a quick read (at least it was for me) because its so fascinating. the reliance on psychics and rumor is startling.
