obviously this is ridiculous and upsetting - he does the right thing, gets screwed anyway. i work around the corner from barneys and, like bergdorfs, its a store that intimidates me as a black/non-rich person. i make a perfectly fine salary - good credit etc - but those stores are SO high end they make me anxious.
