Yes, but instead of those games being up to schools to schedule, mixing bad teams with good ones into a conference would force those games every year.

If you break up the SEC, PAC-12, et al, and create new conferences with a mixture of those teams and non-AQ teams, you'd be replacing regular season games like USC-UCLA and Alabama-LSU for USC-San Jose State and Alabama-Troy. People want more big time regular season matchups, not fewer.

ESPN, Sports Illustrated, Fox Sports...basically every sports media outlet agrees that the SEC is the best conference. But go on with your conspiracy theories...that's what helped the SEC embarrass Michigan, Texas, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Ohio State, etc., not superior football.
