Totally understand that, but Steam is the standard, we're all used to it now. In my opinion it's too late to expect to be able to get away with it!

Except all my other games are on Steam, as is my friends list. I really don't see why it can't be the other way round, once activated on Uplay just let me just use Steam.

For some people it's because it uses extra resources, though not really an issue for me. My main reason for not liking it, is that I've got all my games on Steam so I don't see why I should have to use other launchers. Really it should give you a choice to use one or the other.
