I enjoyed Blops' campaign as well; they did a fantastic job of mining all the Cold War conspiracy theories and "real" history.

Florida State switched over to Outlook from their own system during the 2010-11 school year and it was one big hassle after another. It's still next to impossible to print out emails; stupid frames.

Thresher maw.

Thanks for giving us a basic walkthrough of the Norwegian penal system. (Never thought I'd say that on Kotaku.)

Xenoarchaeology, extraterrestrial anthropology, and the like— which is about one of the only ways someone in the softer sciences would ever conceivably get to go into outer space. Right now it's engineers and physicists and biologists and whatnot who get to have all the fun, but once we discover the stargates or the

I've noticed that too. Quite the idyllic existence.

Kind of glad we're getting some batarians, since we've discovered they aren't all a bunch of dicks. And the animation of the Soldier's (or Sentinel's) melee attack method of swinging the gun like a club is hilarious.

I agree. My first playthrough culminated in the synthesis ending, which I found very satisfying and the closest thing to a true "happy" ending.

The starfighter level was my favorite in Halo: Reach.

Me gusta.

"I've got a bad feeling about this."

Hear, hear.

It may be a few hours late, but this is the best April Fools' gag of the year!

Ah, The Last Express. Fond memories of that game.

(e.g., my Soldiers are named after warriors— Osceola, Hippolyta, etc.) Or do you just take the lazy way out and type in a random letter? I mean, there are like 24 unique names we're

Great post. I wish I'd had this when I was starting out, too.

It's refreshing to hear someone argue so persuasively about why he feels that the ending needs to be tweaked; as it is right now it's hard for me to take the "Retake Mass Effect" movement seriously because it mostly seems to consist of facile butthurt.

Will Nolan North be returning to voice our hero Connor/Ratohnhaké:ton in this installment? After hearing the number he did on Ezio's gratuitous Italian phrases, I'm looking forward to experiencing his rendition of Mohawk.

I think Red Dead Redemption's multiplayer handled this issue well. A comparatively small group of human players in a large and immersive game world, further refined in the "Outlaws to the End" mode.

Seconded. While there will always be PvP (to a greater or lesser extent, depending on the franchise in question), I find co-op multiplayer to be a very rewarding experience.
