Something that bugged me about the Battlefields (specifically Bad Company and 1943, which I've played the most) was that the guns seemed "squishy." It just felt like I had to empty a full magazine into somebody to shoot 'em dead.
Those are all good points, but we should remember how vulnerable armor can be when fighting in close urban combat— you always need some sort of dismounted support.
