its already been said, but creating really good 2d animation is very expensive, since you have to draw every single frame. I'd check out the Skull Girls to get an idea of the estimate prices for just a single character... so for a full blown roster it would make sense to cut costs down by going 3d

agreed. The only fanservice show I kinda liked was Hagure no Yuusha, because underneath the jiggly tits/fanservice we also had a story element about a bad ass hero who lived in the magical fantasy world adjusting to going back to the boring normal world.

in the fighting game communities the majority of players play with Arcade sticks. While most agree that the joystick is better, there have been excellent players out there with Pad. So in short: just let people play with what they want
