I’m curious as to what your opinion on the game would be if you can’t make the hard choices to do what is right, but towards the end of the game the morally questionable choices you made come back to harm you. Like you finally get to the end of the game and that group you let be oppressed way back when (as an example)

Well I’m not looking only at comments, my understanding is that the “fire” icon at the top is the number of page views, so the current views on this post is 3.1k, where Heather's Greedfal post is only 45 minutes old and has more than 2x the number of clicks.

That is my question as well. Because based on the write up, it sounds like you can but Heather is choosing not to because it would make things more difficult. In which case, isn’t that the message? That people suffer when those who could make a difference choose choose not to because it is politically expedient or

Well yeah I could see how people would think that. Sometimes games change it up a lot in sequels. See:

I hopy Gita doesn’t take this as a slight against what they are writing about because I absolutely do not mean it to be one, but one thing I love about Kotaku is they more or less let people cover what they want to cover regardless of how much traffic it gets. From the last 10 or so posts I have seen about The Sims,

I disagree entirely. If the writing and humor of a game is part of what is supposed to engage you, then a reviewer can absolutely deduct points if they dislike the writing and humor. Reviews are by nature subjective opinions of the person who wrote them and trying to make them into anything more than that is silly.

Ain't that the truth. Meanwhile she will absolutely wreck my shit any time we play Mario Kart.

Yeah that is more or less where I stand. I was just discussing the series with a coworker and we both agreed 1 was pretty solid, but 2 had some problems. Namely they doubled down on some of the stuff that made 1 unique (the humor, mostly), but at that point it wasn’t anything special, just more crude humor.

It would certainly be a nice change of scenery, if nothing else.

Eh, from the reviews I have seen it sounds like more of the same across the board so if you love BL you will probably love this one, and if you dislike the old games you will probably dislike this one.

Yeah normalizing therapy is a good thing, especially in the military. From things I have heard from friends in the military (I enlisted myself but was medically discharged soon after Basic and AIT so I lack firsthand experience), therapy is something that is officially encouraged but unofficially discouraged.

This is pretty neat. When on breaks at work I have been making a game in Excel as well. Just a simple exploration puzzle game with enemies and hazards. It is a fun way to get better with VB.

It would probably be very difficult to modify or remove those benefits, considering there are thousands of people who use them and don’t cause problems for every one person who does cause problems. But it is definitely worth looking into.

Why not? People want to know something is being done to handle the issue. I don’t see any problem with a video saying “we hear you, we’re working on it, we have a good way of handling it, here is an explanation of how it works and some proof that it does.”

I’ve definitely had thoughts like that in my weaker moments. My fiance is doing what she loves, but her career choice is never going to be exceptionally lucrative. There are times when I stress about money and say “if only she did X instead of Y”. But being able to pull back from that, and reminding myself that she

I see it in 3 places mostly. The very religious (so they can have sex without it being “sinful”), young adults (they are basically still kids, and kids are generally a bit dumb or impulsive), and the military (some military benefits and because a lot of people fresh out of boot camp young, so see number 2).

Gotta get out of the barracks somehow.

That is one of the reasons I never played any of the older RE games, because “tank” controls suck. Same thing with quite a few of the old Metal Gear Solid games, the controls were needlessly complex or silly. I think Peace Walker had okay controls but I haven't gotten around to playing MGS5 at all.

I find it especially weird that any author on Splinter is acting like this is beneath them. I respect Rafi and think he is one of the better writers here but come on, 70% of the content here reads like it was written by a 14 year old writing about the lates Youtuber drama.

Well yeah, that is because you are wrong and they are right. It is an interesting and well done take on the Tapper/Diner Dash genre of games, but it is still just another one of those games.
