Yeah, no. I'm sorry, but not even in the most remote village in Europe* will you find "village councils" who apply gang rape as punishment for absurd offences and then threaten to burn their house down if they go to the police. Rape? Yes. Rape happens everywhere. Bullshit of this magnitude? No. But if you can point

To each his own. I've been to the Olympics (as a spectator), and 30 years later, it's still a highlight of my life, and I really look forward to watching on TV. That's not to say it's a perfect event, but I'm confused by your complaint that it's all about "big business" since the Olympics lose money for the host

I'm happy to call anyone who gang rapes a woman (or anyone, really) a savage, regardless of geo-political proximity. I do it to the scumbag savage gang rapists stateside and otherwise.

Is this where we point out that the same thing happens here? Because that's getting more and more absurd.

I really don't understand why people hate on her so hard. I have always thought she was very talented and she never came off as anything but polite in interviews I have seen. I think that it was just the typical media trend of turning on people after they have been popular for too long.

I'm an old. I've had a FB account since 2007 - long before my daughter opened hers. I use my page mostly as a political and social action site. I've learned not to allow people to post content on my page. I use it along with my Twitter account and my blog - all of which share similar content.

I have never understood why people have such an extreme aversion to spoilers. If spoilers actually had a significant effect on your enjoyment of film/tv, then people would enjoy movies based on books they have read less than people who have not read the book. The opposite is clearly true.

And plumbers everywhere clapped their hands in glee at all the cash they were about to earn...

OH JEEZ?!

Did you see how Seize commented? That's how you do it. There's no reason to be an asshole about it.

As far as I can tell, because Dave Barry is science illiterate. Dr. Swaab is an esteemed neuroendocrinologist of impressive pedigree and he has contributed greatly to both neurology and endocrinology. This isn't some creationist crank spouting bullcrap; the man is a world-class scientist.

Believe it or not, the claim that cigarette smoking during pregnancy might cause male homosexuality may be reality-based.

Maybe he was deeply depressed. People can genuinely believe that their actions in a case like this (apparent murder-suicide) are in everybody's best interests. It's almost impossible to fathom looking in from outside...but we don't know what was in his head.

Hm, nah, still going to go with punitive, though you're proving yourself an excellent shill for Chase. It's certainly punitive if, for example, I want to be generous at the holidays and take my co-workers out for drinks at the bar we like best nearest our office, which happens to be cash-only. There are 7 of us, and

WOW. I would say that so strictly limiting customers' access to THEIR OWN MONEY is not a great way to hang on to customers, but they probably know from experience that it won't make that much difference, since switching banks is a pain. This is one reason it's a good idea to keep a decent chunk of "emergency" cash in

Gahhh, I missed Saturday and here I am, late again, on Sunday. Anyway, two things: one, my bf of five years is hilarious. We got drunk at the engagement party of a mutual friend and he came home and did this:

I think people with any religion need saving.

I'm sorry, you don't have a very high opinion of the liberal arts? Because literature and arts and languages and mathematics and science and philosophy and history are just so pointless?
