I've never seen this anime, but I really can't help but think it had some influence on whoever made that monstosity above. It's almost spot on...

You have it. It's called The Old Republic, it features eight interwoven stories, follows on the events of the previous two games and is receiving a constant stream of new content updates.
Id have to say the extremely generic story held it back the most. Otherwise a great game. After so many hours, I was skipping all the dialogue just to get back into combat. One of the best combat systems in any game though.
