Whyyyyyy?

The worst mod I did was trading my brand new Accord for a 2007 M5 with 128,000 miles like Tavarish told me to! Now I’m bankrupt, divorced, ride a bike to work and live in a broken BMW down by the river!

You do realize that “hamster wheel" was the basis for the Jeep 4.0, and engine many regard as one of the greatest ever built, right?

Other than it being an I4 (or I6) AMC beat you to the punch by 35 years. The Eagle Kammback was essentially an AWD Gremlin with a restyled nose and much smaller blind spots.

And a fixed rear window. So you got lots of cargo space you couldn't access. I never understood that one

Gremlins are 2 seaters with a decorative rear seat.

If your answer isn’t Ford flattie with finned heads, you’re doing this wrong.

Subaru didn’t have much to do with it other than buying the rights after no one else wanted it, and it did go into race cars. It was big, heavy and underpowered and thus failed. I'm a Subaru fan, but this was a black eye, not a source of joy.

1966 or 1972. The Super Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer. Both offered all the trim, features, and ride one would expect from a contemporary luxury car. The Wagoneer had a higher income customer than Cadillac for much of its life, and that was when Cadillac still symbolized luxury for much of the world. Anyone that

Pretty sure that’s exactly what I said. The M5 was way quicker in the quarter and could tear up a road like the autobahn. But this is the US of A, where 99% of driving is done between 0 and 75 MPH, and at those speeds the WRX could keep up and was much more fun doing so. The high strung V10 wasn’t a good match for

They're also 500 pounds heavier.

I had a WRX at the time. And they aren’t that quick on a street. 0-60 is in the very high 4s, about the same as the WRX. The M5 just keeps pulling and is way quicker in the quarter, but it’s so smooth and isolated that it doesn’t feel like it.

These M5s are so overrated it isn’t funny. The girlfriends dad had one that was nearly new. I’ve never been so underwhelmed by 500+ HP in my life. It’s quick, but not remarkably so and so isolated that you don’t even notice it. It handles well for a huge car, but it still wasn’t fun to throw through the twisties. It

It’s amazing that the Hercules platform is still flying 60+ years on. There are a few C130s stationed at Standiford Field here in Louisville. Watching them take off is like stepping back in time. They are noisy, smoky and slow compared to modern craft, yet they are clearly still invaluable as the militaries’

Labor cost is the issue. Those plants are not represented by the UAW, which has pushed the total wage including benefits over $70 per hour. The wage in the southern import plants is just over half that, and quality and productivity are better. The UAW won’t allow a Big 3 plant in the US without them representing it,

Does LR and the dealer not have any sort of warranty on parts and labor? How can the steering column require repair so frequently without it being a defect in the part or repair? Different parts each time?

You put a topper on a step side? Whyyyyyy? You lose the 2 benefits of a step side- the step your bed access, and the good look. That flare over the step where the topper widens to match the cab looks terrible IMO.

I’ve met plenty of Wrangler owners who use their Jeep exclusively to mall crawl. I’ve yet to hear any JK owner complain about the ride or handling. They aren’t bad anymore, and owners know what they’re signing up for. It isn’t like they’ll knock your fillings out or fall on their side on a cambered off ramp. In fact,

The JK uses a replaceable bulb halogen. It’s been almost a decade since the Wrangler used a sealed beam. No argument though, the lights were pretty terrible compared to anything else in the 2000s. Doesn't help that they are round either.

Evo’s are awesome, but not really a Halo car in the way 3000GT’s were. Anyone with eyes can tell a 3000GT is a sports car. Even shitbox NA/autos look fast. Ask the average person what an Evo looks like, and they’ll say a sedan with a wing or something to that effect. They probably won’t even know its a Mitsu if they
