Well, while most people would be happy calling it a tank, everything on tracks isn't a tank. It's the same reason why you don't call a pickup truck a car. Some people might, but being on a "cars & midly related stuff" website, it's always good to be precise.
Well, your definition include a very important theme in tanks : Heavy armor. A BMP doesn't really classify as "heavy armor" with only 33 milimeters or 1.3 in of maximum thickness. It'll surely resist small arms fire, maybe even heavy machine gun fire but not "armor piercing" shells of any description.
I know I'm gonna be "that guy", but this is not a tank. It looks awfully like it's a BMP-2, which is an IFV.
