Ok you know what, I can count the number of people on one hand that I’ve ever called a cunt in my entire life, it’s not a word I use lightly.

Yep.
I’ve been accosted while just going for a pap smear. “We have alternatives!” To a pap smear? Because I would totally want to hear those.
Except that it’s not the government saying “you can’t speak here” or “you can’t speak in this way”. 8 feet is nothing - if you’re 8 feet away from me and I can’t hear what you’re saying then either I’m wearing headphones or your simply mumbling, being a few feet closer isn’t going to change that. The 8 foot buffer…
Ask them how they feel about BLM. I can imagine it's not favorable.
Also doesn’t give you the right to harass people seeking medical care. Or write down their license plate numbers or post their photos online - which is what these sick fucks do to women.
Or in favor of civil rights protests.
The complaint, as the Chicago Tribune reports, accuses the city, Mayor Rahm Emanuel, police Superintendent Eddie Johnson and Transportation Commissioner Rebekah Scheinfeld of “partnering with abortion vendors to violate the rights of those who wish to reach out to women seeking abortions.”
I cannot fucking stand these people. They should not be able to accost people who are already dealing with a stressful situation.
And how many women using clinics have complained that protesters weren’t allowed to give them all this information? Oh, right. They can give any of these people permission to do that if they want you. I wonder how many of these harassers are against panhandling.
I’m so sorry. I hope you get the outcome you want, and even if you don’t, I still think that going through the process tells that piece of shit that you know that what he did was wrong and that he doesn’t get to walk away without facing some kind of consequence (even if the consequence is nowhere near what we’d want…
I would argue that given the utter failure of the justice system, the best path to justice we have (perhaps the only one, in fact) is to not financially support his work. And rapists’ work in general. If we, as a culture, stopped excusing rape in exchange for art, we’d have no more shitty Woody Allen films, no more…
I was reading this HuffPo advice thing where some dude was bitching about how his wife and the mother of their three, under 6 year old kids, is too exhausted to fuck him all the time and doesn’t appreciate him taking her out to dinner in order to make her feel grateful enough to blow him after.
I agree, and I would also like to add that if you are in any way conflicted about Parker, his friend, the ONCE CONVICTED RAPIST, has a writing credit on the film!
100% agree. I am a SA survivor, and I had a meeting with my attorney yesterday who told me of course that my attacker is claiming that I was “asking for it” and “desperately wanted a relationship.” The level of gas lighting is sickening.
It’s clear to me that many people see rape as sex, not a physical and emotional violation. In their mind, if a woman has had sex before, what is the big deal? That was Nate Parker’s very (successful) defense: he had gotten oral sex from the woman before, which he (and the jury) saw as a non-expiring pass to future…
I was pretty appalled as well by the 'well he wasn't convicted' crowd. Read the transcripts, for fucks sake. This asshole raped an unconscious woman and then harassed her after.
This all day long.
This whole thing has been exhausting, as a sexual assault survivor. It’s like everywhere I turn there are rape apologists—more so than usual.
Easy for him to say. He won’t be the one going through the heartbreak of having a child with microcephaly.
