While having Robin say “Fuck, Batman” seems pointlessly excessive, Dick Grayson’s friction with Batman and that being part of his motivation to form the Titan’s is completely in keeping with canon, as is Raven’s fear of her dark side. Starfire’s hair has got to tho.
Law & Order: Mutant Crimes Unit
Someday somebody will do a proper documentary on Akiva Goldsman, the man Hollywood studios appear compelled to constantly give money to for no discernible reason.
I’m lobbying for Doom to be played, not by a smooth-faced, pretty actor, but by one with actual horrific burn scars. From an experiment after his college buddy tried to warn him. Oh, and the actor always wears a metal face mask and green cape.
Which is ironic since Dan Abnett, the guy who wrote the most recent run on the Rebirth Titans, also writes Warhammer 40k novels.
Who tho? WHO?! Mad is Kaecilius, Hugo is the Red Skull, Hiddleston is Loki, Nic Cage is Ghost Rider, Brolin is Thanos ... ditch the Fox X-Men Universe and cast Fassbender? Wait, wait, wait. What if we cast Hugh as Doctor Doom in the MCU?
You know, Wolfman and Perez’s run on The New Teen Titans was already pretty dark. But Nightwing killing people is crossing a line.
Yeah, this screams DC: 40K, for sure.
Worse, the original Teen Titans comics showed how you could do “emotionally mature” works while still keeping it...y’know, fun.
I, for one, can’t wait for the Superman cameo episode in which he and the Titans have a competition to break the most necks.
THESE AREN’T YOUR GRANDADDY’S COMICS ANYMORE!!!! THERE ARE NO HEROES! THERE IS NO RIGHT AND WRONG! ONLY DARKNESS AND ANGST!!!! ARRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
DC Executive: “...comics?”
Yeaaaaah, I’ll just stick to the fun Teen Titans instead. The first series already went to some dark places (Terra and Slade and Raven’s evil daddy issues) without needing the faux maturity of violence and bad lighting.
The Batfamily famously doesn’t kill! Why is that so hard for these writers to understand?! Why does Batman kill in basically every live action adaptation? Now Dick Grayson of all people is killing? C’mon!
They ought to have adapted Red Hood and the Outlaws. It, at least, would’ve made sense there. (Why is Dove…
I’m hoping for Michael Shannon to play Doom but I wouldn’t mind if they got an actor who is, like Our Benevolent Overlord, Romani.
Hear hear! This will be great for unemployment numbers. They’ll need dozens of out-of-work actors to play all those Doombots.
Oh, for Fox sake!
And finally Our Benevolent Overlord Victor Von Doom shall now truly grace the silver screen.
I was really hoping to see the X-Men and Fantastic Four integrated into the NBC Chicago universe.
