Dark City? Jennifer Connelly all noired up. Cool mix of the old and the new. Very dystopic.

Zombie Arthur C. Clarke. Even undead, raised by some unholy necromancy or technology-indistinguishable-from-magic, he could write a better sci-fi short story than anyone I can think of off hand.

I respectfully disagree with this approach. Part of the reason we need critics is to hold stories that make stupid decisions up to the light and tell us why they did not reach their potential. To only look at the good points excuses lazy writing, which is a chronic problem in today's media.

This is a perfect description of how I feel. If Doctor Who is going to get better, it has to want to change. I am here to support it, but I can't make it seek help.

That one and this one are my go-to movies when I need cheering up:

Yeah, I watched the first season, and it slowly wore away at my tolerance until I declared it "unwatchable."

I've been using Feedbin since Google Reader announced they would shut down. It took a few days to get used to the new UI, but I actually like it much better. It is clean, beautiful, and new features are constantly being rolled out based on user needs.

Yay, I love Ava's Demon. The art style is all its own and the story is quite fun.

Perhaps apocryphal, but I remember hearing that the cast of Casablanca had a bad time making the movie, were frustrated with each other, and didn't think there would be any chemistry between the characters.

I am an idiot. I did not even realize that Pluto was Urasawa; I thought it was Tetzuka (it is merely based on Tetzuka's Astro Boy). Pluto is one of the greatest manga series ever written.

While the design borrows from Darkseid, I wouldn't really say that they're close enough for people to think they are copying each other. The character and story are certainly distinct enough.

Short answer, no.

As others have said, her "Company Novels" are really fun (Book 2: "Sky Coyote" is my favorite), but I would actually read some of her short stories. She thrived in the shorter format and "What the Tyger Told Her" from "Mother Aegypt and Other Stories" is probably my favorite short story... ever.

Yeah, when you start with "Great discussions are par for the course here on Lifehacker" and then highlight an instance of a single stupid comment being flamed by a bunch of people, it looks bad.

Actually The First shows up way back in the season 3 episode "Amends" when it nearly drives Angel to suicide. Back then, it was an awesome and effective villain.

Buffy. Three awesome seasons, then The Initiative, Glory, magic addiction, slayerettes. Plus the lack of Oz after season three and Sarah Michelle Gellar getting super skinny.

Upon reading my earlier posts, I realize that I came across rather combative and condescending. Sorry about that. I actually agree that this could be a problem, I just think (or hope) that it will be awesome.

I am not saying that bad people are clear headed. I am saying that even "good" people, when put into bad enough circumstances, may do bad things if they directly alleviate those bad circumstances. This does not necessarily make the character unrelatable (I don't care if that word isn't in the dictionary; there is no

I imagine scenes showing a long period of time by himself, slowly going insane from loneliness and boredom, losing touch with reality, would go a long way toward making us understand him. It is easy to condemn people for doing bad things in horrible situations when you have never endured those situations. It is fun to
