Seriously, everything I’ve read about this is pre-spun for a civil damages suit. She was moderately inconvenienced and partially at fault. I hope she’s merely fairly compensated.

TL;DR. You’re saying Land Rover has skipped self-driving and went straight to a self-aware vehicle, right?
It's pretty much a Discovery, since the current Discovery is a last gen Ford Explorer now.
I see it basically as the LR4 for people turned off by the Disco 5. These will make great 2nd hand overlanders assuming they can be repaired cheaply enough.
Vaguely looks like an LR4... which I am actually OK with? Digging the rear tire carrier.
Scheißwagen!
Just because the market has decided a value for something doesn’t mean it’s not a crack pipe. Apparently every single one of these is a crack pipe, and I’m okay with that.
This is not even close to that 2004 in terms of amenities and refinement. A 91 Euro spec G wagon is probably closer to a 91 Bronco in terms of capability and refinement and should be priced accordingly. This should be worth maybe double what a comparible condition Bronco is, which is probably not the asking. CP
Like the Buick Tour X Wagon!
Not sure why this isn’t one of the top comments since it’s an incredibly valid point. The only way I see our LC losing the 5.7 is if the Tundra also loses it as an option.
people like me who use land cruisers to do land cruisery things are 2nd and 3rd buyers, which usually works out great because 1st buyers tend to pamper them. its not the ideal we want, but we can work with it. There is also engine swaps if it comes to that.
Doesn’t the U.S. Land Cruiser get the 5.7L V8 from the US full size trucks?
That might be the primary delay - getting a motor combo that would be as demonstrably reliable as needed for the planned 25-year service life. I’m sure they could do it, but that vehicle is meant to be your Last Car.
The ugly Camaro was introduced and sales actually fell. Now the less ugly (but still ugly) Silverado is introduced and Chevy loses second place to Ram.
1st Gear: When will GM learn that ugly vehicles with ugly interiors don’t sell?
But there’s a Silverado trim for all of us! the Real People (TM) told us so!
The ol’ “what you have is not absolute crap, you just want a bit too much for it” issue. Great car, not great price.

I am looking forward to a thorium-powered future, thankyouverymuch.
