Red light cameras are a bad example, they are civil offences instead of criminal. They don't result in preventing registration/points on license/etc.
Many western countries consider US healthcare substandard.
Since lightning is way passed the breakdown voltage of air; metal, glass and other things are not particularly dissuasive to it. Now if it starts passing through a complete vacuum, then we have a problem.
You have it all wrong. The pool is meant to point out how deadly the rally is. Mixing testosterone, alcohol and Harley Riders is a dangerous thing. These people are just pointing out how predictably deadly the event is. Year after year we see the headlines: "X bikers dead at rally" and the second these people point…
I got stuck in mud once in an area I wasn't exactly allowed to be, in a 2WD SUV. Owners came in their 4x4s said they had called the police then drove off. I learned real fast how to get unstuck as best you can with only 2WD.
It looks like if he just kept rocking it back and forth instead of flooring it he could have accomplished the same result in far less time.
Might be courteous if there's no other room to merge before or after. If there's open space before or after me the the merging car can move into (like in this video), I don't budge.
Doesn't look like it to me. The car had lost control before coming near the truck.
No no, see the dealerships exist for consumer protection! They said so themselves!
Note that modern speedos (ie, anything made in the last 10 years) are pretty accurate, within 1%.
Perhaps. The inspection stations I've been to have fancy brake testing platforms, undercarriage cameras, and other stuff, so it looks like it was pretty thorough. I like how it's all or nothing though. I just saw my 3rd or so car in 2 years with 3 brake lights out. Never saw that in TX. Congrats NJ.
I know what case you're referring to, and it's usually taken to mean a bit more than it does. Still, you should not depend on the police showing up in a life-threatening situation.
Exactly. It was included in registration fees. It still is (the emissions part), but they stopped doing the safety part of the inspection process.
NJ, arguably another nanny-state, had one but nixed it to help the budget. They care about your taxdollars more than your safety. Not sure why they couldn't start charging for it, like every other state. You own a car, you should be able to afford $40 every 2 years or so to inspect it...
Great idea. First maybe we should require all states actually do a safety inspection to begin with.
They issue recalls for really, really, dumb stuff. Maybe safety recalls, but still...
No. How did you jump to that conclusion? My point is gang-bangers aren't tasked by your government to protect innocents, while cops are. So when cops start shooting innocents, it makes the news.
Gang banger isn't being endorsed by the state, nor does he have a state-issued vehicle with the words "Serve and Protect" on the side.
