The thing is, if you make a set of performance check boxes, there hasn’t been another engine made, as of now, that clicks more of them. ONE of them might be, I guess,“brand purity” or something like that, but, c‘mon: Bottom line? Power /weight / space / affordability / situational mod potential /... Best there's ever

I can’t imagine why anyone would ever try to swap ANYTHING other than an LS into a vehicle.

Funny you mention that. I learned recently a piece of BMW history.

The best are the ones who think a 2JZ-GTE A90 engine swap will be good.

Because trolling the 2JZ is so much fun.

If you were the S/O you could easily know exactly what kind of car they wanted but it sounds like the dude here was a little out of touch haha

They are on their 27th VAG vehicle. 26 VWs and one Audi.

Yet the bleating about SBCs has itself become such a tired cliche.   It’s an attempt to appear imaginative and unconventional in the most unimaginative and conventional  way possible.

we would end up in a world where too many cars are fitted with it

Bro. 2JZ is life bro.

But bro. Overnight parts from Japan bro. 1000hp bro. Getrag transmission bro.

Actually, for real, do you have any examples?

You are correct. The old Chevy SBC is not the best answer.

Either he way overspent or that HP figure is pretty pessimistic. You should not need to spend that kind of money for a SBC.

Apparently someone didn’t get the “LS Swap all the things!” Memo. Carburetor? Why not just turn it into a horse draw carriage or cut out the floor and use it as a Flintstones car.

LS with an aftermarket holley FI system would have been 70# lighter and most likely have fit under the stock hood.

Counterpoint: An LS and the stronger transaxle from a 951 would make this thing damn near perfect. It’s the carbureted iron block and the glass jaw transaxle that make this not worth the asking price.

So long. Thanks for all the fish.

Probably bigger (forgive the pun) fish to fry for a while than worrying about the smell...

No arguments here, that’s one big trunk.
