$50/year is effectively one tank of gas for a safer, modern, more fuel efficient “regular car.”
I think some asterisks that showed the rate of inflation or a table of “in current USD” would be helpful here. $1.56 in 2003 is $2.11 today. So your $9.25 figure for the 2003 F-150 cost/100 miles is $13.21 vs. the $13.80 you’re paying today.
So you’re recommending a whole lot of mediocrity when there are legit fun, fuel-efficient and reliable choices available. CP.
I hesitate to suggest anything that’s at least 27 years old as “reliable”. It can be, it’s not hard to work on at all. But some mechanical skill is needed.
Now, find a clean one with reasonable miles.
Budget: up to $20,000: Yup
They reinvented the gypsy cab.
Ride “sharing” apps are just taxi cabs companies. They operate on the same premise and provide the same service.
Note that many European cities were developed long before the United States existed.
The automobile has existed half as long as the United States has existed as an independent country. Looking at the city of LA - in 1870, the population was about 5,000. For contrast, London around that time had a population over…
Dont forget about the urine.
Same, I learn to love my cars more over time. Anybody who gets tired of a car in 2 years gets no respect from me (unless the car has some major issues). It just strikes me as... entitled? I can’t really find the word.
I’ve actually never got tired of any car I owned.
Have you considered maybe not owning Fords?
To be a real American you have to live in that cesspool?
That the problem with semi-autonomy. It’s being treated as a driver aid to inattenivness, so when it works well the driver STOPS PAYING ATTTENTION! These aids should be focused on making a driver feel superhuman, basically driving a heightened sense of awareness down the road. Cadillac’s night vision is a perfect…
It’s all good, man. Another commenter said the S8 is so stealthy you missed it as a recommendation. :)
The S8 is so stealthy he didn’t even see it in your post. Mission accomplished, Tom.
Also, do you think we could get a “where are they now” style update on some of these “what should I buy” posts? It would be cool to see what they actually went with!
