OR they changed the logging frequency AFTER via OTA update. Not a stretch to think someone in some software department would flip that switch without checking with the hardware side to make sure that the hardware could handle it.
I’m a little out of my depth here, but I wouldn’t put it past them to have changed the logging frequency AFTER they sent the car out the door.
+5 is technically a win, sure. But being down 35 lb-ft peak and likely significantly more across the rev range is a great equalizer for the extra 500 rpm you get from the Ford. All while still returning worse mileage.

The V8 is actually lighter than the S54. But it doesn’t fit unless you want to completely redo the front frame rails. It doesn’t even fit in an E36 (and probably not an E46 either).
