If they’re either full street cars (with airbags, etc) or prepared track cars (cage, harnesses, ideally HANS-compatible) I agree that the risk of actual physical injury is decently low...I just can’t believe someone would take a marginally valuable car out there (multiple M3s....a TVR?!?). Track day insurance

Reason #6 - if I buy every single one, that means I won’t have to deal with five different yet somehow exactly the same ghetto-tinted, mismatched panel, never-maintained, non-inspected hooptie dangermobiles constantly up my ass and or driving recklessly at 2x the speed limit on my way to and from work. Or maybe I’m

I was watching in awe at that particular slow-motion disaster. I felt really bad for the fiesta ST that just plowed at full lock straight off the end of the track. Braking: it’s a thing! And those E36 M3s just pushing from the point of turn-in out beyond the exit curbing. How do you even maintain understeer for that

It seems totally nuts to me to have drivers of such a wide spread of skill (i.e., no skill whatsoever through experienced drifter) all on the same track at once with open passing. It’s incomprehensible that any insurance company allowed this to take place. I am absolutely shocked that we didn’t see any side impacts in

Two things that these people should have known before setting a tire on track: 1) If you’re going to go off, scrub as much speed as you can and then go STRAIGHT off; 2) In a spin, both feet in.

Wellllllllll the car we’re building for AER (& hopefully Spec E46) won’t be ready, but if I can still snag a sticker off you I’ll make sure it gets to the right place. Perhaps you’ll be fooled into giving me one if I point to my E90 M3 and grin like an idiot.

I think I like this better than the E91 M3 build. This car even has the proper gearbox! Best engine ever? Best engine ever.

Beautiful photos and a great write-up of the experience! Shame about those rear pads, that was a heck of a lap he had going. Should I ever find myself with untold millions at my disposal, I'll remember to take an extra set of pads for my LaF, you know normally the fronts go way before the rears... Maybe traction

It's a remarkable car. I absolutely would daily drive one, although getting in and out would take some practice in order to be able to do it gracefully. It's just as usable on the street as a 2-series.

The P85+, not even the D, weighs 4,700lbs. My fat hog of an E90 M3 weighs 3,700. The M division made an X6 into an M model - doesn't mean it's any good on a race track.

That's my point. The i8 currently being sold just isn't ever going to make a decent M car. Have you spent much time with one? The engine is under layers and layers of plastic covers. You can't even see it unless you actually unbolt a panel. During my limited time with the car, I never caught a glimpse of anything

No, we do not need an i8 M. I've swapped seats back to back between my E90 M3 and the i8. They share nothing in common. The i8 is not about motorsport heritage. It's a very fun toy, but it has no place on a race track. Can't we just like something for what it is?

I hope the three presenters get to have the opportunity for a proper goodbye by finishing the last episodes of the current series. I don't give one rat's ass about whether a tv program will continue with the name "Top Gear" slapped on it in 2016 - after this, Top Gear is dead.

Learning these lessons now with a 2001 330i destined for Spec E46 - lesson #1: don't trust any work, even basic maintenance, done by the previous owner(s). You'd think rotors would be bolted on with set screws, right? Surprise!!

You're a brave man borrowing that Mini this time of year. I've seen potholes over the past couple weeks that would swallow it whole. The Hummer is the right choice for Conshy in March.

This is WAY cool! I know the Z4 in race spec is not new but this gives me a level of excitement for Sebring that I haven't had since chassis #901 was unveiled back in 2009. That, and I've been re-watching Adrenaline a lot recently as a result of extreme cabin fever...

Jeremy's Cavalier Attitude: brought to you by extreme riches. No job? No problem! Time to make jokes on twitter!

Came here to post this. Thanks for beating me to it. Philly representation is in good hands lol

I think I am juuuuuuuuuuust out of frame to the right in your first pic. That was a great one! The 917 did not disappoint!
