M3 sedan? Gray with red seats you say? Manual gearbox? Done, done and done. By the way I use the rear sun shade every day in my work parking lot. You'd be surprised how well it works.

My E90 M3 has all that except for the hatch. Darn. So close.

Holy crap.

Thanks (Justin?). It's a rough track on tires for sure... lightbulb and all that. I haven't done anything there this season yet but I'm going with DelVal later this month and again with NJ CCA in Oct so I think 4 days will fill my quota for the year. I'll be running my AD08s backwards to even out the wear I'm sure,

AER requires 180 minimum DOT tires, right? Any idea what he was on for this clip? Man he's fast - particularly in (and out of) T7.

I bought a very similar setup today. Going to experiment with mic location. Never occurred to me to put it in the helmet, I have so much shit in there as it is with the chatterbox lol. Very neat idea though

Yeah, I have the Hero 3+ that needs a USB to 3.5mm converter thingy on top of the other things you mentioned. I really just need to suck it up and buy the stuff because my videos would be much nicer with decent sound. I have another track weekend coming up toward the end of this month, maybe I'll get something

The real answer is because good sound requires an external microphone with one of those wind noise thingies on it. And that's a pain in the ass for people who are used to just hitting the "record" button on a GoPro. You have to find an appropriate mic, modify the GoPro case to accommodate it, mount the mic - either in

The flappy paddles are my biggest hangup. My space gray sedan sports those carbon splitters from the Limerock like a champ and has the proper number of pedals: three. The fire orange is obnoxious, but I agree that it wouldn't be a deal-breaker on a limited production M3.

Since 2008, the rod bearing issue remains the only major "what if" as far as I know, and it's greatly overstated. They usually fail with plenty of warning. First, you'll get metals in the oil analysis sample and Blackstone will tell you to freak out about it. Then, if you don't fix it, it will sound like a marble is

The E9X M3 is a reliable car - in fact it's the most reliable in the E9X fleet...but perhaps the CarMax warranty would be useful in covering the cost of the reconstructive surgery needed for one's retinas after looking at a fire orange Limerock edition car all day.

They are. I own one and track it. They're bulletproof actually - the E9X M3 is the most reliable car in the entire E9X lineup. Including this car in this list was stupid - wait, I take that back, the seatbelt assistant arms are known to fail in the E92. So I guess you need that warranty after all.

It's going to be interesting to see what this does to used BMW prices. It seems to me like BMW is throwing a bone to dealers by way of higher profit margin on CPOs. It's either buy from a dealer, or buy some other, non-BMW (and therefore scary) extended warranty to go with your non-dealer used car. I recognize, of

It's on Lightning eh? All the driver slots filled in your E30? I've done 4 days on Thunderbolt already this year but none on Lightning. Starting to miss it. My E90 M doesn't exactly meet the regulations for this race. =)

Lol did it? Maybe I should buy a second one. =)

BMW didn't bring a car with a manual box eh? That would be a notable disappointment for, say, an M235i press event, but it's downright tragic for the launch of the new M3/4. And let's not fool ourselves, no one is buying $10,000 brakes to use on the track, unless they're going to be replaced for free as part of BMW's

That was the first thing I thought. Twitchy as hell! I'll stick to Forza 4 with my Fanatec CSR for now, thanks very much.

Yes I did and (I'm not sure this is the appropriate thread for my enthusiasm but...) I absolutely can. not. wait. to drive it in real life. It's a BLAST. You know, I guess that's how this sport goes. We all know the risks and we do it anyway. This incident is very sad but it's not going to change my mind about what I

I don't think anyone is running the expanded portion yet. BMW CCA guys were just talking about it at our event last week at NJMP (we were supposed to run the expansion in April and were told the runoff wasn't completed) and no one had heard of it actually being used so far this year. Apparently, this incident happened

My first track event ever was two days on Jefferson Circuit and it rained almost the entire time. Poured, actually. My tires were terrible in the wet, and that's probably for the best. A lot of that runoff is downhill grass followed by trees. Absolutely terrifying. I don't know what possessed me to sign up for another
