Yes, seriesguide! It hooks into GetGlue and trakt.tv for web and cross-device syncing. It was easier to search for episodes before a recent update, though.

If you have Beautiful Widgets (a pretty popular app), then you can add a 1x1 Timed Silence toggle which will do the one-time quiet event for you. I'm sure there are others that do something very similar.

I completely agree. I've been playing more with G+ since they announced the closure of Google Reader and find it is really well written and designed. It's just a shame that hardly any of my friends use it.
