I wonder what the ABYC thinks about that fire pit. It’s probably not compliant with their A-1 standard.

Haha, really? I sort of figured you wouldn’t be able to answer me. That’s ok though, fake it ‘til ya make it I suppose.
I couldn’t care less about how many stars your reply garnered. The real fact of the matter is that the author is more like the general readership in terms of boating knowledge and experience than you or I. THAT makes it a big deal to them as well. Unfortunately, you want to play the part of a boating elitist and…
I understand the entire sterndrive vs outboard point that you’re trying to make. Contrary to what you may believe, I actually have a fair amount of experience in the marine industry. Maybe we can get you down to FLIBS and on one of those outboard-powered dogs you believe have no performance characteristics whatsoever.
What percentage of the general population do you think has ever ridden on a 1,400 hp boat? Percentage of the Jalopnik readership? My guess is it’s pretty small, and that’s the reason it was written about. It has nothing to do with whether you think it’s “high performance” or not.
And where did she ever call this boat “high performance?”
Unless I missed it, I didn’t see Kristen refer to this as some “special high-performance boat.” I think she was just diving deeper into the technology that makes something like this possible.
All this talk of “bad” rap is depressing. I’m going to pop in that all-time classic “The New Workout Plan” and get my mind right!
I’m still mad at myself for letting my dad sell his ‘78 R80/7 that he picked up from the factory in Germany without making him a serious offer.
For whatever reason, I don’t watch a lot of car-based TV/Internet shows these days. Maybe it’s because I binged on Overhaulin’, Monster Garage, Hot Rod TV, Pinks, etc. I did enjoy Fifth Gear for a while, and catch Top Gear from time to time.
As a former owner of a 740 Turbo (and coming from a family that’s owned an 850 Turbo & C70), I can’t not buy this shirt. Thanks for the heads up!
Growing up, I was definitely more into large displacement V8s. Then, two of my friends got rotary-powered RX7s, and my mom started driving a Volvo 850 Turbo. Those cars, in addition to a friend’s dad’s GN, did a great job of broadening my automotive fandom.
Driver’s side fuel tank leak. But that’s mostly because GM won’t step up and replace the defective tank.
When you tell it to turn, it turnss — and quickly.
There are a ton of great suggestions. I’ve got to get out more!
Granted, this relies on ships broadcasting AIS and obviously doesn’t include any military vessels, but the traffic on VesselFinder and MarineTraffic appears to be relatively normal. I would think that if a navy vessel was just hit with a missile that either more ships would’ve come to its aid, or they would be moving…
I hope the Colorado and Canyon owners get GM to issue a full-blown recall for their vehicles as well. I still can’t believe that my C5, which has likely just developed (I’ll know 100% once the tank is out) the infamous crossover fuel tube leak, isn’t covered by a full recall. Instead, GM, even after admitting that a…
I was also surprised that the Caddy didn't make the list. I think the manual version CTS-V tops out at 190+, and the auto is limited to 179.
