At the end of the day, it's all about what you've got under the hood. Like the article said, part of the reason for Fisker's failure was their preference for style over mechanical quality.

I believe Tesla also had the advantageous exposure of being "first to market" with a production all electric car of any significance.

If this were a ferrari test it could have only been driven while the temperature was between 65 and 66 degrees, could only be driven for 6 miles a day, and all charges would be supervised by a team of techs with laptops.
