I would argue that the helicopter shots better convey the incredible speed these cars are travelling at. Also, the drone shot you shared are not as thrilling as the one from the helicopters. (And at the 0:25-ish mark in the Argentina video, I think this it was shot from an helicopter too, you can hear the noise

Oh man, that semi-final in which Kristoffersson punctured a tire (rear bumper was slicing in it for the first 2.5 laps) and managed to keep the lead for almost 3 full laps. That was amazing.

I’m guessing it’s pretty reliable as they’ve had it installed in a Saab that has done many* miles.

They often are cars that are destined to be cfrushed away (eg flood damage), or that have been in a wreck and they have done enough comestic stuff to make them look nice on screen again.

If it’s like every movie or tv show, they often use car that have been damaged and are going to be crushed anyway for these kind of stunts.

Maserati has an awesome configurator as well. I don’t know if it still the case, bit for quite some time it had an x-ray mode.

The proportions look weird though...

Raph, your pictures are amazing !

We do understand how fusion works (or at least we think we do), the problem we have with it is we can’t really use it. Yet. Once we solve a problem on the path to using it to produce energy, we create a bunch of other problems. That’s our main issue with nuclear fusion.

Well, saying they are not trying to bring technology to the masses is ignoring the fact that they are one of the main force (at least publicly) pushing for the camless engine (along with the university of Lund).

Yeah, Harris has been driving quite a bit as a hired racing driver during classic race car races (stuff like Goodwood Revival, LeMans Classic, ...) and the 24h of the Nürburgring among others. He’s not full on professionnal racing driver, but he’s no slouch either. His video on the P1, 918 and LaFerrari is a good show

Import taxes are inexistent in Europe as long as it comes from within. In France at least, you only pay the emission-based taxes when you register the car. And I believe companies don’t have to pay them, only us private buyers.

They’re two very different systems that aim to please customers differently from what I gather (that might also reflect the way we consume, in a way).

To me it looks like the US dealership model is kind of its unique thing. Do you know how it works elsewhere?

Well, he kinda did (I believe a good chunk of the old crew followed them). But the BBC is always on point when it comes to cinematography and photography for its shows.

Oh, I know that, of their joint-venture with PSA for the SEVEL-Nord and SEVEL-Sud factories. I just wasn’t expecting them to go to Renault for a van, especially since they have along hsitory of working with PSA for them (almost 20+years for the Ducato, and their minivans too for a long time).

WHAT???? TIL Fiat is going to badge engineer the Renault Traffic.

That and the fact it’s probably more expensive than his Aston Martin. Around here you’ll be hard pressed to find one for less than 65k€, they are mostly being sold around 80k€ and you can find some above 100k€.

The ones on the side of the headlights look so tacky. Oh, and did they get rid of the “piston 86" emblems that were on the fender?

A 1000 times this!
