What I don't get is that they can get something that looks miles better, while still getting a small SUV. Renault Captur? Peugeot 2008? Opel Mokka? It's not like the Ecosport is the only option available.

It's available in Europe too, and it's probably one of the ugliest SUVs out there (yes, even with Ssangyong range).
Commercial over here is usually only during half time. And before over time when it happens.
Anything made using Renault's cocaine stash. Like the Espace F1.
What about a freaking 911 GT2. Yes the GT2. That monster. That guy is Gilles Nantet, a french man. He has been racing on 911 for as long as I remember. First time I saw him at a rally he had a 996 GT3. More recently he was rocking a 911 GT3 cup which was replaced by the GT2.
It's because we use different ratings to say the same thing. In Europe we display the RON (rated octane number) on the pump, while in the US, you display the AKI (anti knock index) which is slightly lower. So our 98 unleaded (called SP98 in France) is basically your Premium. Wikipedia has a nice shart with…
Wow ! I think we had it bad in France... Where do you live ?
The cheapest I've seen in a longtime was today at a local supermarket. Regular diesel was 1.218€/L, that's 5.85$/gal. Premium (or I guess that's what 98 unleaded is?) is around 1.46 €/L (7-ish $/gal).
Exactly. I know they unveiled this project last year, but I don't know for how long they have been working on it. And from experience it probably won't be ready when they say it will (I have read somewhere else they are expecting it to be operationnal by 2020), just take a look at the ITER project. It should almost be…
I don't really understand what you're saying about the engine being smaller and lighter because of the desmodromic valves. Hasn't Ducati been using a desmodromic setup for decades ?
I give you the french high speed train, the TGV. Back in 2007 this beast set a landspeed rail record of 554.3 km/h, that's roughy 346 mph. And this one was using the regular train, not the modified. So a few months later the SNCF and Alstom (the maker of the TGV) unveiled a rather special train, the V150 (pictured…
BadObsessionMotorsport on YouTube. They might not post many videos, but you have to follow their incredible build of an Austin Mini with the power train from a Celica GT-Four.
I didn't even know they released a new Xtrail, I was still at the old boxy one...
Nope, tatally different things. The Juke is Nissan's small crossovoer, the Qashqai is in the middle, and the Murano is the big one. We get the 3 over here (and the Xtrail also, don't know if it's still being made though).
I didn't know it was this expensive in the US. They are everywhere in Europe. I think I see more sprinter than the Peugeot/Citroën/Fiat vans (that you get as the ProMaster). The Sprinter starts at €25k over here. And it is probably the cheapest van you can buy (with the Transit).
And you can also add to that the Mercedes Sprinter which I guess you also get in the US. Speaking of commercial vans, what is GM doing ?
You could say this was a Smashing Pumpkin !
I understand you, I'm getting tired of him. Lately I find him often doing too much, or trying too hard. After watching James May's car of the people I realised you don't need Clarkson to make Top Gear great.
In France we use "break" beause it was the name of a carriage, because of its function (lots of room to transport people and stuff) we started using it for station wagon. Brake being the english term for the same carriage.
Well they thought "What if we took our V10 F1 engine, create a brand new carbon fiber chassis, stuff the engine in the middle, and put the body from an Espace over it, what would that make ?"
