Clearly you haven’t actually READ the book.

“The film may be able to overcome this”

I’m guessing you didn’t read the book. His suit monitor is damaged and his crew think he’s died when they’re forced to evacuate.

It’s actually explained plausibly.

Yep. the Real, Clone Peter went off to live with MJ in wedded bliss while Ben Reilly lived the traditional non-married Parker life.

Loved Ben Reilly, loved the costume... Shame the Clone Saga was so terrible. Also nice thing about Ben... He wasn’t extreeeeeeeeeeme.

I miss Ben too. I know he died to finally settle the clone mess (he died then degenerated like all the other clones; hard to retcon that away). But he came to be a great character on his own, and the brotherhood he and Peter learned to share was nice.

He maybe failed to replace the original, but at the time, he was the better Spider-Man. Back then, Peter was a mess. Angst ridden, mopey and not fun at all. To be fair, he barely survived the most 90s event of his career, Maximum Carnage. But I really missed the fun-loving Spider-Man. Most replacements on this list

I assumed Ben Reilly was Marvel’s first attempt at getting rid of the Spider-Marriage.

Ben Reilly had a cooler costume.

What, no Thunderstrike? Same era as most of them - he was Thor 90’s replacement:

I will continue to argue that Ben Reilly should have been given a legit shot at being Spider-man for a significant period of time (while Peter and MJ lived a more peaceful life in the Pacific Northwest). Peter would always come back later. It could have been a Green Lantern/Flash situation and it was seriously an

Even if you didn’t like the idea of Steve Rogers getting replaced, you can’t deny that Ed Brubaker’s run of Captain America was fantastic.

It’s sad how many of these characters are fantastic in their own right, but as replacements they fell flat.

More old Bond than Mad Men IMO.

I like it. Not crazy on the fonts either - but it’s similar to fonts used when the USSR was still around, so it works.

Terrible fonts, but really lost me at Damon Lindelof. Also: Directed By Kathryn Bigelow
