I lament sometimes that I don’t have “a game”. I have friends that wow, dota2, rocket league, destiny 2, Minecraft, etc.. They can point to thousands of hours of play and they seem genuinely good at a game.

I rarely play the game these days, but my main character turned 13 a little over a week ago. It’s definitely playable without constant attention, but if you want to be in the thick of it, then it’s gonna consume your life like very little else.

In game: ruthless hyper-capitalists who’ll sell out anyone for the right price. Out of game: nicest bunch of nerds you’re ever likely to run into.

Fanfest is an amazing event because of how nice the players are, it wouldn’t work at all if we all were the assholes we roleplay in-game. :P

Tell that to all of the people in tourist ports who rely on that income. Especially in smaller Caribbean islands. Hotel guests staying for week are not going to spend the same money as thousands of new people every couple of days.
