It works fine with Wifi. I am in the "private" beta on both PS3 and PS4, and I am currently staying with family and am able to stream games over a wifi connected to 7mbps DSL and I have little to no issues playing games on my PS4.
And instead of just profiling people, you need to get your smartphone close enough to their butts if you want to know anything.
