Not a fuck up.  GW only passed because Blizzard wanted 100% control over the story, something GW even to this day doesn’t allow.  In the long run, GW dodged a bullet there.  Plus, it’s not like GW is some small indie company with nothing to their name because they passed on this one opportunity.
