Ok i lied. That car I posted is here right now for collision work. The disk damage is crazy thou, because the rim isn't smashed like you would think. Customer told us they "hit something solid". Strut, knuckle, bearing, swaybar link, disc, backing plate, lower control arm, engine cradle and drive axle all need

Thanks for the comment Stiggie, glad we are on the same page. I guess I should have worded my original post differently huh : )

That is because tough track day pads are most likely an organic compound, whereas the day-to-day cheap brake pads i'm talking about are a metallic or semi-metallic. Semi-metallics last a long time, but wear down the rotor. Organic compounds allow for quicker pad wear, because they sacrifice longevity for stopping

Thank you sir, you beat me to it. I guess i should have added the statement "we use a micrometer and measure pre-resurfacing thickness. If they are too close to the minimum wear limit, we replace." We do have a brake lathe in house, but it seems more common lately to have to replace vs resurface (perhaps because of

Also, if you look at the pad, the material is gone. Once you are braking on the backing plate instead of brake pad, metal eats metal pretty quickly. Still, i'm sure this sounded horrendous for a few hundred miles

Which is why we replace rotors at pretty much every pad change.

The sheer mathematics are mindboggling! That cant be confortable/safe/smart. Those tires must get replaced with every oil change!

exactly. We see audio shops use drywall screws more than anything else. They will pretty much pierce and tap into any sheet metal, and are easy to use. Makes the job look like a hack IMO thou

Why does that gif make me laugh every time?? love it

I'm a bit partial to this car

please tell me that was a well veiled pun

But..why wouldn't he go by Richard!? Or Rick or Richie. I understand it is an option for a nickname for richard, but geeze, with a last name like that I cannot fathom why he thought Dick would be best.

Why has the internet shorted my attention span so much! by 0:32 i was thinking "geeze, am i watching the whole race before it happens?"

But if you do it too long you get condensation on the outside of your windshield (at least in the swamps here of florida) I use heat. it makes it look more foggy for a second or two, then magically clear.

I agree, that article was amazing. Sucks that his only clients would be criminals, and in the end would get him busted.

Close. But even with older pneumatic locks, if you were able to push air into the key hole, thereby pressurizing the system, that would imply that when the system gets pressurized on it's own, it would gush air OUT of the key hole.

(not mine)

THIS!! It took forever to get this thru my wifes head. Gatorade bottles 10 for $10!! At our stores (publix and sweetbay), you dont need to buy the amount listed, you can buy 4 of them, and it will be 4 bucks.

I do the same thing every time I go to the grocery store. I'm amazed at some things. Example: I like the little 8 ounce aluminum cans of ginger ale. But last time i went to buy a pack of mini's, i compared the "price per ounce" on the store price stickers. The mini cans were twice as expensive per ounce! So even

I chuckled at that a bit too, but they are monitoring every ounce in those cars.
