He would have been better off not using a spring compressor at all, and instead slowly lowering the lower control arm from the knuckle with a bottle jack (or while it was on a lift with a twist jack) thereby releasing the spring compression. Thats how i have changed every single lower control arm that is not a

bravo good sir, bravo

In addition to the GTR and Gallardo, the R8 is his prettiest car. I agree with Formula, I was sure it was going to be his car.

What cars have you owned?? I did a quick recount of my vehicles, and all are clockwise. Even did a quick google image search for "instrument cluster" - take a look for yourself. I didnt see one that went anticlockwise

I read this sitting in my family's body shop office, a mere 15 miles south of Port Richey. Ugh. I cant count how many vehicles come to our shop that had a parking lot repair done on their car, and now they need it fixed right. It's pretty sad how many people believe they will get a good job if they give a guy 100

yes! i remember this! +1, i was just looking to reply with this one.

Am i the only one who was thrown off by the use of the word loosed? "driver who loosed the board"... I guess it is an okay way to use the word, it just felt awkward. How about that driver that LOST the board?

I give great credit to nissan for ths one,

The only problem i have is in order to become a good enough driver, one needs to start by being a not so good driver. I'm an effecient racer, but dont think i can hold my own drifting. But if i want to get into it, i need practice, thereby being a danger to people, Before i actually get good enough to be safe.

At 0.40 - 0.41 seconds, you see the right car off the brakes, and just slightly edge forward. Any person of driving age would realize that the brake light switch gets activated quite a bit before the brakes are actually applied (try if for yourself tonight, notice when lights go on vs when you feel your car stop.)

Well said. Its becoming more common for Euro cars to not even include dipsticks or oil or trans fluid, so they force you to return to the stealership for regular maintenance. (says a disgruntled independent mechanic....)

Here Here! As a once 18 y/o proud owner of my very first brand new car, a 2003 srt-4, I was appalled by the half-hearted neon SudoSRT-4 body kit. After a year I came to understand that my SRT-4 was 'just a neon,' but with a turbo and good styling....

The NHTSA made one statement that put all independent repair shops on the same level as the worst criminals in the world. Their statement in the bulletin that "if an airbag was not installed by an automotive dealership then it was not an OEM part and would put peoples lives in danger." I personally take offense at

I love watching commentaries. In my Titan, I've got the rear entertainment hooked up by rocker switch to the front Navi screen, so I 'watch" (listen) to a lot of movies while i'm driving. Commentaries is a broad term, some movies will have director and producer, where others focus on the actors. I like the insight

Urban dictionary just taught me what F7U12 means, thanks qingdom!

OH GOD MY CAPSLOCK IS STUCK ON AS WELL!!

Is anyone else confused how/why the airbags "went off"? As a mechanic and collision tech, I deal with airbag systems daily, and while we have a healthy respect for them, they are built to be nearly impossible to just accidentally set off. Wiring clips have grounding prongs, and the SRS unit does system checks and
