Unfortunately, video games as a whole are moving in that direction. If we can't keep the ire off the 'otaku why would we assume a community with even more anonymity and competition would be conducive to patience?

My other hobby's followers are even worse. At least motorsports enthusiasts are able to hold a conversation on most occasions, the 'otaku crowd lives in the internetz and is twice as hateful.

It feels like both platforms are missing their flagship still. I understand the difference is going to be nil for the first year or so, but then there's always that one game that makes you feel like the current gen console just isn't going to cut it.

System updates have ruined consoles for me, especially for the PS3. I've been a gamer for my entire life but in my 30's I literally have the attention span of a turnip. If you put a 10 minute buffer in between me and hitting the start button, chances are I'm going to lose focus 137 times before the update is done.
