Here is the opposite: I work for the government and we get a fixed salary. There’s no one I could ever ask for a raise. It totally takes away the issue of salary negotiations, but it may reduce some people’s will to push their career further.
Kristin, my 2 cents: Here in Brazil, a new proposed bill wants to limit luggage on flights to make it similar to USA and Europe. We had NO idea here, but Brazil and Japan are the last countries that still allow 2 32kg (70 pounds) with no fees. So, we still living a dream, people almost pack their house to travel.
