Arguably the more obstacles a developing, potentially intelligent lifeform faces, the more quickly they may be able to evolve intelligence and develop technology. Also, given the life-spans of red dwarfs, they have much, much more time to develop.

Honestly, I’ve never been able to find a glove that felt as good or right as the glove I played with in little league. I kept using that thing even after it was way too small for my hands and every catch was basically a palm catch.

If you actually read my original post, my point was that what happened to Revolv can and will happen to ANY device that relies on ongoing software support, whether that support is via the cloud or via operating system updates.
