Yeah, I read that and was thinking, “But aren’t those BOTH groups of criminals?”
JJ Abrams is especially bad about this stuff in his space movies. Don’t get me started on his bullshit warping of orbital mechanics in Star Trek Into Darkness.
I was watching that video, waiting for the footage to happen, and then the video was over.
I’m assuming they censored it after you posted this.
Arguably the more obstacles a developing, potentially intelligent lifeform faces, the more quickly they may be able to evolve intelligence and develop technology. Also, given the life-spans of red dwarfs, they have much, much more time to develop.

Part of the issue is that before they stop supporting it, the last few updates tend to have serious performance issues. Rather than ending support on the last stable, well-performing update, many companies will push it until their software simply can’t work well on the older devices. If you make the mistake of…
Or at least be offering a discount for purchasing a replacement product.
If you actually read my original post, my point was that what happened to Revolv can and will happen to ANY device that relies on ongoing software support, whether that support is via the cloud or via operating system updates.
Garfield’s Spider-man was pitch perfect in my mind, though a lot of people felt like some of his banter was too abrasive.
