If this was an American company involved that would’ve likely been the case here too.

Just like how highway patrol in the US don’t really follow speed limits and traffic laws a lot of the time I would bet that the Navy feels like they don’t have to pay attention to shipping lanes or rules for right of way out at sea.

You’re still just speculating. The 3 series doesn’t even outsell the 4 series 65:35 in the US. But even once you add in the 3 series and 4 series sedan together with the 2 doors, the convertible still accounts for more than 10% of US sales in 2016. They move a lot of convertibles in the US and a fair number in Europe

If you see the mechanism of the folding hardtop and take that as an example, it’s obvious the engineers made exactly zero compromises in any part of the design. Also considering how long it is, even the first year E93 328i convertible has way less chassis flex than any convertible that fits 4 adults made up until that

So? It’s still a fantastic sports car and its way more fun with the roof down than in a coupe, especially the lightest coupes which don’t even have a sunroof. Sure, it may not handle as sharp but it’s also makes the car more fun at lower speeds due to the wind and the noise.

The 3 Series convertible was designed alongside the coupe, not converted later. It’s been that way for at least 2 decades.

I have a 2013 E93 with the M sport package, (so the last year of it with the best equiptment, steering, and suspension) and I’ve driven the post-LCI M3 convertible and it is better in every way.

Have you driven an E93 M3 convertible or M4 convertible? They’re extremely high performance cars. Don’t let armchair car reviewers tell you what is and isn’t a track capable sports car.

E93 M3 deserves a commendation. Has a screaming V8, a hard top for when the roof’s up, and actually seats four people.

You put an extra 4 in there, it’s just “X4 M40i xDrive”.

How many MPG does it get?

Would the Lexus IS not be the better choice if someone is coming from a 3 Series? They’re direct competitors. The IS is way less of an appliance too.

Why is everyone getting so upset? When people drive stuff like this, Lexus only spots and handicap spots are basically the same thing.

I can’t wait for comparison tests between this, the new E63 S, and the RS7 Performance to come out.

Nope. That’s not correct and really doesn’t show the character of them.

The Pajun sounds like a bunch of unsubstantiated rumors.

That’s awesome!

I can assure you that the M240i and Audi TTS are definitely sports cars. They even have much more aggressive suspension and tires than the 86/BRZ.

I wish they still used the 6.2 NA V8. All of the AMG 63's use a 5.5L TTV8 or a 4.0L TTV8 now.

I mean a lot of people in my area do 250 mile journeys like going on vacations for the weekend or ski trips. (In the case of the ski trips, even the Model X 100D can’t make really it on one charge due to the large elevation change sucking battery). That’s where the second car comes in.
