Actually I booke the trip a few months ago ($3500.00) for the two of us. My loving father is now trying to upgrade us to busniess class (he's a really nice guy). he's gone over the pond twice and says he wouldnt do it again, unless it was first / business class...

@nueber: In Canada he would have been able to keep it all. No taxes on winnings... (I once won $27,000, and I had to fight the casino to give me a cheque, they litteraly wanted me to take it in cash).

Never had that issue at all.. Travelled quite a bit with mine in the past two weeks. I think you are alone with this issue.
