There are a lot of shown pings that are in Canada on that map. Most of Canada's major cities are within a few hours from the US border. Take a look at a map and notice the border is quite a bit more South than you're probably realizing..

While I agree that the new middle class is generally satisfied with a Japanese brand such as the Nissan (or anything not local), I don't agree that there is much "Japan-envy" these days. Japanese cars are respected for their presence in China for as you mention nearly 30 years but that same market segment you mention

Agreed. Working in the auto industry in China I can see that this was almost entirely a marketing decision and it's a clever one. This will be a great car for young "FuErDai" (second gen wealthy) and women here as the Mini Cooper is. That being said, Infiniti is not very well known here and the more it is known it

FYI. The Beer Store and LCBO and the laws on how and who you can sell to is a Provincial Law. You can buy beer in a convenience store in Quebec for example.

The amount of super-cars sold in China right now is absolutely mind-blowing. 2 years ago I never saw McLarens on the road. Last year a McLaren dealer opened in the "new CBD" area and now I see them all the time! And no it is not the same one..Not to mention Maseratis are the new BMW, and can be found on every street.

If the F-22s are already sitting there and the "costs" are already borne, why not let the pilots get more experience using the Raptors? It would seem like more of a waste of resources to not utilize and show off those new (intimidating!) toys.

It's already gone...

Cool article. It even inspired me to make the image above and I'm not usually one to do that kind of thing!

It will be a strong year, but I personally think that VW will come out on top again as they did last year. VW is acceptable for politicians as it isn't BMW or Benz. Also, the main markets now are the tier 2 and tier 3 cities in China where it's the middle class and if they can reach up to a European brand I think that

Very well said. It is hard for people outside of China to understand the consumer mindset within China (as I suppose is the usual case of any national market). The Buick "legacy" as you said is exactly the point. It was competing in China with VW back in the day when there weren't many options and was and still is an

What the Guangzhou CTF Building looks like as of this month.

Don't worry. I'm willing to bet your tiny tax contribution didn't really attribute to this video made with GoPros. You know who really finances things, corporations..

"[Chang'e] doesn't know about my problems yet," said the voice of Yutu in the Xinhua report. "If I can't be fixed, everyone please comfort her."

30% seems high, but I can tell you that here in China there are plenty of people that refuse to turn off their phone. That being said, that is only one of the many rules people here seem to "forget" to do, e.g. take off seat belts immediately after the back tires have touched down....

Lions and water don't mix!

Nice!

Really glad to see you got it back! Glad to be a part the the Jalop community.

Great news Jason! I look forward to reading what happened.

You guys can't see it? I think it must be your monitor. Are you using an OLED? It's really cool, I wouldn't have imagined it would look like that. Good spot!

Just to clarify, I meant Transformers and Iron Man was well met in China.
