I made this same argument way back then. XBox 360. What’s next, the 720? Sure, still sounds kind of cool, but do you just keep doubling? or just stick to numbers that are divisible by 360? The XBox 1080? At that point you’re getting into the area of naming conventions for, like, PC parts, or model numbers for HP

Mmmmmm, delicious schadenfreude . . .

Me, circa early 2002: “The PATRIOT Act is scary legislation that erodes our constitutional rights. I understand fighting terrorism, but this may be too far.”

Now playing

I recently made a shepherd’s pie from Binging with Babish. It involved making a demi-glace, which is basically red wine and beefstock reduced way down. You can use demi-glace in tons of recipes, and it seems like it would work great in this one. If I were to make this, I’d probably try using demi-glace and some water

Maybe you didn’t see it, but many of the actual people who violently stormed the Capitol last Wednesday will be prosecuted based on the evidence of their seditious terrorism--and the planning of it--that they, themselves, posted to Parler.

THIS GUY.

I just assumed it was an ongoing deal w Duracell.

You’ll get no argument from me on that point.

Kentucky likely didn’t reelect him. He had pulled his approval rating up to 39% from about 18% by election day, but then he won with almost 60% of the votes.

The article could have been clearer. I think the author assumed his audience would be more generally familiar with some of these, but they’re really not well-known things unless you’re a big Simpsons fan and also pay attention to social media.

I really hope Mitch McConnell is financially ruined before he dies, and he winds up buried in a pauper’s grave.

My wife was never much into video games, other than some casual things on her phone—The Simpsons Tapped Out, in particular. It was a few months into the pandemic when she was getting pretty stir-crazy, and she has almost everything in Tapped Out at this point, so she needed a new game.

They’re also the same people who have no idea that the republican party has been stonewalling against election security/transparency legislation for decades, gerrymandering, repealing voter rights legislation . . . and ultimately under Trump crippling the fucking mail system to rig the election in their favor . . .

Looks like they’re finally closing in on Ted Cruz.

Overlocking?

I don’t love Tim Burton, and I liked the Nolan Batman movies a lot, but imo, Michael Keeton is the best onscreen batman so far.

Mixed reviews and reports of the game being glitchy both have me thinking I should wait to buy this.
