Trust me when I say it’s worth it. I’m sitting here getting over 4 days of the Flu, and yes, I was tested for the flu and I have it. The Flu shot was on my list, but never got to it. My wife and daughter got theirs earlier in the season.

If you’re “pretty sure” you had it chances are you didn’t have it. If you’re, “Holy shit. I’d rather be flayed and served over a warm bed quinoa to rabid hyenas rather than feel like that again,” then THAT is likely the flu.

There are a few things to consider:

Related serious question: I most definitely had the flu over Thanksgiving (along with pneumonia) and was prescribed Tamiflu (along with antibiotics for the pneumonia). So I’m wondering if the flu shot would do me any good.

“Serious question... do you still need the shot”

There are three strains the current shot protects against, and getting sick with one doesn’t necessarily protect you from the others. People also tend to innocently mistake their bad colds for the flu, so there’s still a chance you haven’t gotten the flu yet. Given how the shot is usually free for most anyone, I still

The voice acting on some of those phone recordings is truly haunting. You can feel the fear and desperation building as you discover more and more of them, and then it gets dark.

People hate having a story fleshed out slowly, behind the scenes, where you have to actually work to find things out.

I know at a certain point artillery moved to a cartridge model. A paper wrapped load of gunpowder would be rammed down the barrel, and a ball/shell after. The paper from the powder package became the wadding. With breach loading guns it happened a little earlier. You just dropped the pre-wrapped powder bag in there

Possibly. But that likely means other sailors were reading the books, which would be where the pirates got them from, right? And if other sailors read them, why wouldn’t pirates?

Could be both, maybe? Maybe during their last battle they were running low on wad supplies and resorted to using anything on the ship that was flammable?

my first thought too

A first edition copy of Edward Cooke’s A Voyage to the South Sea was never “worthless.”

I like how when taxes are cut for the rich and we criticize it, we all get yelled at about how “it’s not a zero-sum game!!”

Most of that warehouse activity you’re talking about is on par with what Amazon already does too, so it’s net zero difference. Retailers are becoming vastly more energy efficient, and in an effort to cut costs they are moving more and more towards direct-from-vendor product shipping rather than maintaining their own

You know even playing Sorry he would never say sorry.

Literally now literally means not literally.

We’ve set up a new weekly ritual with our kids that started 3 years ago. Sunday night movie night. We rotate who gets to pick the movie. We set up a theatre with a great popcorn maker and comfy seats. Adults usually pick the oldies but goodies (they can now watch some movies they couldn’t watch 3 years ago), the kids

You, sir or mam, are a pussy. It’s been a year since Trump has been elected and what does he have to show for it??? Not very much, even with control of all three branches. A lot of it has to do with how vocal people are being and speaking up, not sitting down. Don’t give up. There’s more elections in the future. We

My father who believes everything said by the Chinese Communist Party really likes Michael Bay’s Transformer movies. He believed that the US and Chinese government are working in a project to create these “robots”, oblivious to the whole plot of the movie that the robots are alien lifeform.
