So you haven’t been to IMS in over a DECADE? the facility is MUCH nicer nowadays, though it’s still the largest sporting venue in the world, so you have to take that into account (I’m looking at you, trough-style urinals)

The amount of races on regular network television as opposed to cable is going to be a huge help to boosting the fanbase.  NBC’s coverage in general is just going to be better than the minimal-effort dumpster fire that ABC used to light for every race that wasn’t the Indy 500.

If you think about it, he was right in the middle of pit lane so there was no easy access and he was in the fastest part of the track.   I remember the crash in slow motion and initially holding my breath till he started moving.  After that time started moving faster again.
