I grew up calling them “dog food tacos.” But I live hundreds of miles from a JitB now and I’d crush about eight in a moment’s notice.

Burneko, this is right and good and correct and excellent and for a (one can only assume very) temporary period you are not the absolute worst.

Dan Gurney wearing an F1 helmet. Not a motorcycle helmet. PS- Good write-up. I hated shopping for a helmet because the ones that fit ended up being very pricey. Long-oval/long-faced helmets are rare.

I would, again, on behalf of soccer fans around the world, like to thank the USA for pursuing the investigation which has brought us to this day. Sepp Blatter and his cronies would still be comfortably skimming millions without the work done by the US DoJ and others.

He and Rhee make the perfect power couple: he writes the textbook on committing and covering up sexual abuse, and she sells them to charter schools at a 1000% markup.

This is the kind of reporting that you guys used to do that makes Deadspin unique, cutting edge, and different (“better”) from most mainstream media outlets. Good to see you getting back to it. Nice job.

Great, I guess we can look forward to Walker’s laid off campaign workers leaving these kinds of garbage comments all over the place. Also, get fucked.

I’m not sure if it was him but not only that but there was a “stock”/Factory version that they drove to the track as a non -race version and when the scale was questioned they had them measure that “factory” version of the same car.

He did, it was a 66/67 Chevrolet that had been channeled and chopped longways and sideways to make a 7/8th version of the full size car. Most of his race cars had significant body modifications for both weight and aerodynamics.

the supposed “7/8th Chevelle” was not actually a smaller scale. it had tons of tiny aero tweaks done to it. IIRC, it was never actually raced, either.

That, the “7/8” Chevelle (even though that was not exactly accurate), the basketball in the gas tank, the bellhousing supercharger, etc.

Fairly informative, yet brief, video of the IAA. Shows all the transformy bits and... what the hell are they doing to open the doors?

Why, pray tell, would anyone have a vacation home in Columbia, South Carolina?

The XJ220 racing the oval at IRP on “Saturday Night Thunder” is still one of the weirdest things I’ve seen on TV.

The first time I ever read Deadspin was the night before my brother died, almost exactly three years ago. He had cancer, and it was clear that he wouldn’t last much longer, so I told him he was the best brother anyone could ever ask for and I drove home and put my baby to sleep and opened up my laptop and found myself

I know. I think this is a case, at least for high school, to start classes later, as teens need more sleep and become night owls and the early school days don’t help.
