I simply avoid adding people who I don't care about what they have to say, and avoid all of that extra work later.

Does it matter what it's referring to? Yes. As per my original reply, it's when people have used it so much that everyone gets the meme, and anyone can use them in the proper context that you see them get over used. Hence my initial reply that I dislike this particular meme because it's so over used.

Unfortunately, while completely well reasoned, I don't expect 99% of the people who use the meme to use it altruistically. For most it's simply a popular satirical meme that will fade away eventually when one that's more topical and new comes about.

For me it has nothing to do with politics and is purely based on the over use of the meme.

I'll provide the same response I gave to someone else. Why add someone as a friend if you're simply going to ignore them. I have LinkedIn and other professional networking sites for coworkers.
