It's not -A- taco that's the problem. It's that people order multiple tacos, a burrito, a drink, then put condiments on it for a single meal of the day. And may do this three to four times per day.
And loaded nachos come in at nearly 1400 minus a drink for a combo.
It's a single taco, you're not going to drive to taco bell for a single taco.

The loaded nachos are 1400 calories, a 5 dollar box is 1200 calories, most burritos land between 8-900 calories.
