Thanks for the clarification. I can definitely see how people would be drawn to the more active combat style of GW2. Macro mmos are a bit less interactive, but that's definitely the appeal to the masses.

Appreciated, and agreed. :)
No problem! Glad I could help, and welcome back.
They did? I must have missed that article.
What direction is that? F2P? Or is there something else?
In september when you can get your hands on the game and see the story telling first hand, I think you'll see it's far more than just voice over work. Are there kill x number of stuff? Sadly, yes. But that's not the story telling they're talking about.
RPS was grand standing for the sake of an interesting article.
Nah, just an informed poster :) Feel free to click my ID and you'll see I've been around a while.
Agreed, I have a response pretty much the same on the first page. It's meh, but I could see where I may look more into the game if this was my first taste.
Read my long ass post below :o) I played wow from beta to roughly three months ago after we completed all of the xpack raid content barely over a month after release. From vanilla to now, I've seen any and all 40/25 hardmode(when applicable) content. That's not to pat myself on the back, but I figured I wanted to…
While I can respect the fact a lot of people wanted kotor 3, it is what it is. If that means it's not for you, fair enough :)
Having played this, and Rift(through the earth raid content, not the dwarf stuff), there's no comparison. It's like saying Skyrim and world of goo will sell the same. World of goo, while a fun indy game had limited content, and was from a small studio.
Keep in mind that those 4 classes have two specializations per class. The sith warrior splitting between a dual wielding dps class, and a single weapon tank are two completely different roles in a group. It's not just a change of play style, it's a role shift. The base classes are just to get you far enough in game to…
Having played WoW since beta, so roughly 7 years completing all content to date, I find the glib, "It's just wow with new skins," comments interesting. Perhaps I just expect more out of people who'd take the effort to post on a gaming site.
While not sexy, I'd love to see a story redo for Muggestutz. It's a Scandinavian(Swiss-Hasli specifically) fairy tale of a Dwarf King(Garden Gnome depending on the story) who helps Alpine farmers through harsh winters via food/field work.
Hut of brown, sit down!
To preamble, I've preordered my 150$ edition.
Their release date is solid. When it's done, and actually ready for release :) Their aim is 2011 holiday. While that isn't an exact date, it's as much as any other mmo provider has given half a year away from release.
So in short, you didn't actually read the contextual reference of the question, nor the responses from his co-panel members.
Mine are drawn to them as well, it's the over use of them I'm not drawn to. Much like cursing, a well placed fuck helps sometimes. But the over use just causes people to ignore you.
