Today, somebody in a car you can never ever own did something you can never ever do.

“I wish my Range had more ways to fail” - No one ever.

Finally, a truck that can haul around your mom.

Cmon, Tesla’s is the king of adding a bunch of dumb shit that people never use or really care about. I.e. gullwing doors are way more trouble than a normal door, stupid party mode or whatever, easter eggs everywhere in the infotainment system like plaid mode, their MSpaint like app in the infotainment system, etc.

And majority of luxury car owners tend to swap cars out frequently. With still a fairly new trend in EVs I have a feeling people are going to be trading in cars more frequently than their gas cars as tech gets exponentially better. Now that makes me think, maybe the real reason they limit range is so that I'm 2 le 3

Most laughable is the bit about long-term battery health as if Audi gives a fuck about reliability outside of their warranty.

You’re also comparing an aerodynamic sedan to a tall crossover. That doesn’t come for free either. A quick search shows the S to have a drag area of 6.2 square feet whereas the e-tron (assuming the same frontal area as a Q3) sits at 7.4 square feet for a 19% increase in drag.

So, basically, non-Tesla carmakers have standards?

Have you tried not getting into accidents? It's surprisingly not difficult.

Nothing can be done.

Now before I get started, I’d like to clarify that I absolutely agree with the core message here. Red-light runners are scum. To see a light that’s already red long before deciding not to slow down and blast through it makes a person reprehensible, helplessly selfish, and better off nonexistent.

“A machine that doesn’t cease operation and fail safe when it receives known bad inputs (or no inputs at all) is in fact letting you not operate it properly.”

Why are we shouting that Tesla “let” the driver do anything? Is the licensing process for operating these machines that meaningless now? As someone licensed for the privilege to drive cars on public roads (yes, it’s a privilege and should be regarded as such) everyone should be fully aware of their responsibilities

2017 Fiat 500 Euro NCAP: 3/5 stars.
2017 Ford Mustang Euro NCAP: 2/5 stars.

I’d take the Fiat.

That looks awesome.

Am I the only person in America that special ordered an Abarth this year? lol

Wrong! Le Cars are awesome. I’ve owned several and they’re great little cars. Just because Americans didn’t know how to maintain them wasn’t the car’s fault.

God dammit, this shit is going to kill someone. Autonomous cars? Fine, as soon as the tech is sufficient. But this semi-autonomous shit is dangerous. Either I am driving a car, or I am not. I do not wish to have an argument over who is driving my automobile at highway speed, not with a human, and goddamn sure not with

So... This:

I was going to take the leap and try to get DIS to run on a MacBook Air using VM. Then I found an old Windows 8 laptop in the scrap pile at work. The monitor hinge was wonky, and it only had an i3, so it was essentially garbage. Now, it’s an extremely useful tool in the garage, and it was basically free.
