The hood has to be taller to meet the idiot pedestrian impact requirements that require the hood to be a trampoline. The reason the z06 had such heating problems was because this requirement forced them to use a smaller blower to clear the stock hood.
I think it’s a case where they also have to keep the vehicles from being pushed around. If people get notion that an autonomous vehicle is programmed so it has to move for you, the majority of people will figuratively drive right through them.
Every time I look at a used car, I have the owner drive it first, so I can see how they drive. Pedal stompers get their vehicle miles get multiplied by 5 in my book

These cars never see the road, and rarely even leave the factory. You buy it, and Ferrari stores, maintains, and transports it for you between events. They have several warehouses full of these customer owned cars, in various condition. Some look mint, and others look like they get flogged hard regularly.
