I’ve been able to eat at a lot of places around the area but by far my favorite (and my girlfriend’s as well) was The Tattooed Moose.

-Don’t go in the summer months unless you just really aren’t bothered by oppressive humidity.
I feel like you have to go back quite a ways...like Stirling Moss or Jim Clark.
This. People are always trying to equate Gin to Vodka. They are not similar. A vodka with cranberry juice is drinkable whether it’s Belvedere or Aristocrat. A gin and tonic with whatever under the counter swill the bar has will taste like ass. You gotta go for Sapphire or something higher up to appreciate a good gin.
Thank you.
Yeah, they don’t act like you’re inconveniencing them by showing up and at least seem to be happy to see you. There’s a handful in my area that when the drive-tru gets busy enough, will send out pairs of employees to take orders at your car to avoid delay.
Rarely do I eat fast food but 9 times out of 10 my order will end up wrong. I cannot recall a single time Chik Fil A ever messed up my order. Couple that with the fact the people who work there genuinely seem to (at least pretend really well) to care about your satisfaction and it’s no wonder they’ve overtaken a lot…
That’s actually a really good idea. It would make sense to incorporate the famous cold war bunker in some way. I’ve never been a big Fallout fan but if the setting is something different like rural Appalachia I just might check it out.
Yep, my dad had one with a 5 speed, locking diff, and those ridiculously awesome optional 3 spoke wheels.
Where I grew up if you’re going off deep into the wilderness for camping, hiking, mountain biking, etc. it’s pretty standard to have a gun in your backpack (granted you have the appropriate permits). Not because you want to go off willy nilly shooting the wildlife but just knowing you’ve got protection should a worse…
Have you ever been to a Waffle House late at night? I’ve been to a couple and I don’t blame them at all for having a panic button.
Having spent a fair amount of time there, I’m sure they’re like everything else in Rome. It “works” but someone should really take a look at it.
That’s not true in VA. Anything over 80mph is an automatic misdemeanor regardless of whether it’s 20mph over or not. You’re correct it’s up to the officer’s discretion but they can most definitely arrest for over 80mph. My friend was pulled for around 90mph and had the choice of jail time or house arrest.
Stopped me on I-81 for 83 once.
I’m in Roanoke most of the time but luckily 220 doesn’t discriminate, it’s terrible in both directions!
Yeah I don’t play around on 220..even if you don’t see any troopers you still have to keep an eye out at all times for Billy Bob leisurely pulling out of his driveway into 60mph traffic.
Did the same thing in college, 83 in a 70 while overtaking a couple semitrucks in right lane. Luckily 2 friends had already dealt with the exact same thing and told me to get a lawyer asap. Got it switched to “defective equipment” and had drivers ed for a day.
Supposedly they’re trying to bump it to 85mph, it was at least on the table last I read.
Hell, in VA the 17mph over part would probably have sent her to jail.
I think it’s mainly that there’s a lot of guys out there with fond memories of trying to convince their parents to buy them 30 dollar action figures.
